Video loop installation, glass screen, sound, 2000.

“Cities” was first installed at the Plimsoll Gallery in Hobart in 2000. A small glass screen has the city map frosted into it, allowing some light to pass through and create a shimmering, wing-like second ‘map’ on the wall. A flock of starlings swirls as if to come to roost, and the soundtrack repeats, dreamily, There’s no place like home… “Cities” has been installed in further exhibitions in the Galleria Cesare Manzo, Pescara (2004) and at Street Level Gallery, Glasgow (2005) each time with a new street map of that city inscribed on the glass and projected on the wall.
