Polyester dacron fibre, dimensions variable, 2004.
‘Cloud Chamber’ was first devised during a residency at IAAB international Artists Residencies in Basel, Switzerland. It evolved in response to a period of ill health which had constrained my movement for several weeks. Unable to get outside, I brought the outside world indoors and filled the room with these dreamy clouds.
This work has had several reincarnations since it was first installed here in 2004. It featured in the Glasgow Art Fair in 2006 and filled Q Gallery in Glasgow in 2007 as part of the Radiance Festival. Hear me talk about the work here: Click below for BBC Radio Scotland Interview, November 2007.
This piece continues to live on, and ‘Cloud Chamber’ will be travelling to Dubai in Autumn 2019 – I am sending clouds to the desert!
