Swimming in the Shallows [SOLD]

I went for a swim recently in Waulkmill Bay, a shallow shelving beach where the tide comes in over golden sand. It was a beautiful warm summer’s day. The sun was shining brightly and I spent ages swimming very slowly in the shallows with my snorkel mask on, watching how the light danced through the turquoise water and lit the sand beneath me. Just inches below me, tiny flounders and crabs scurried around or hid themselves in the sand. It was a magical day. When I came back to the studio I finished this drawing.
